Welcome

We are Brian and Richard, father and son and founder members of the WMDC.  We have lived in Whitchurch for more than 40 years and have strong links to the community.  We have always wanted to learn more about the history of this parish and its surrounding areas.

Taking our local knowledge and adding our passion for history and our hobby of metal detecting, we hope to unearth some of the lost history of our community.

We are approved members of the National Council for Metal Detecting which provides us with Public Liability Insurance and we adhere to their Code of Conduct.  We also treat all permissions as confidential and take the utmost care when digging.  All significant finds are reported to the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
